APC PB0-200 : NCPI Design Exam
The APC PB0-200: NCPI Design exam is a 90-minute, 59 questions exam consisting of multiple choice and multiple response items. It is delivered through Authorized Prometric Testing Centers worldwide and will fulfill a requirement for the APC Certified Design Consultant certification. In order to successfully complete the exam (with a score of at least 70%), candidates must be knowledgeable of all exam topics, APC products and solutions, and APC configuration tools.
Supplemental study materials include two online courses on Power that can be found on the Personal Page. A product overview and technical information, along with several white papers (which act as guides/manuals for specific exam topics and system components), can be also be accessed online at the Personal Page. The APC PB0-200 exam is available only in the English language. No prerequisites exist in order to take this exam.
Exam topics include the following:
1. Fundamentals of NCPI and IT Environments. Participants are required to know characteristics and structural components of an environment, basic electrical concepts, power quality problems/solutions, and types of cooling architectures, among other specifics.
2. Needs Assessment. Participants must identify appropriate applications for APC solutions and availability requirements. Participants should be able to determine cooling requirements and power distribution best practices.
3. Design Solutions and Solution Proposal. Appropriate software management solutions, UPS and power distribution, and an overall InfraStruXture solution must be determined. Participants should be able to form a system plan and generate a solution proposal.
